Call for Presentations: Deadline Extended!

Jason and I wanted to let you all know that we’re extending the deadline for submitting your presentation for The Examined Life Conference. The new date is January 7, and we’ll have decisions made by January 21. We’re interested in any and all presentations that relate to health, the humanities, medicine, and the human condition. The dates for this year’s conference are April 16-18, 2015. You can submit your presentation idea here.

This year’s featured presenters include Jimmy Santiago Baca, author of numerous collections of poetry, including his semi-autobiographical, Martin & Meditations on the South Valley for which he received the American Book Award for poetry. His memoir A Place to Stand has been made into a documentary film released in September 2014. Nancy Rappaport will also join us. She is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and attending Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Harvard teaching affiliate Cambridge Health Alliance, where she is also Director of School-Based Programs with a focus on servicing youths, families and staff in public schools. We’re also bringing in Timothy Denevi, the author of Hyper: A Personal History of ADHD (Simon & Schuster, 2014).

Thanks for being a member of our community and we look forward to seeing you in April. Please don’t hesitate to share this post with friends and colleagues!
