The Times, They Are a’Changin’: New Dates Announced for the Examined Life Conference
This past April we were fortunate enough to host the 9th annual Examined Life Conference. Once again, it was a transformative event. Each year, we are honored to be the venue for fantastic discussion and communion.
As we approached the early stages for planning our 10th annual event, we knew two things: We wanted to make this conference bigger and better than any before (a tough task, given the bar that’s been set higher each year), and scheduling in April has become more and more difficult. With various holidays, end-of-year activities for those of us on an academic calendar, and scheduling challenges for potential speakers, our windows in April got smaller and smaller.
So this year we’ve decided to make a switch. The dates for the 2016 Examined Life Conference will be October 6-8. After polling our past attendees, October seemed as likely to be a good time for folks to make it as April, and the weather at that time is generally some of the best we have in Iowa City all year.
So, mark your calendars and stay tuned for big announcements for featured speakers—and maybe some new ideas in how we deliver conference content. As always, to those who have joined us in the past, thank you so much for your continued support. To those who have yet to join us, what are you waiting for?
Let us know what ideas you might have. The suggestion box is always open.
Thank you,
Jason and Dave
